No single device protects a house. An alarm without response is a noise complaint; cameras without anyone watching are a history lesson; patrols without sensors are guesswork. The homes we protect best all use the same three layers, added in the same order.
Layer one: detect
Start with door and window sensors plus a loud siren. Detection buys time — the average burglary lasts under ten minutes, and most intruders leave the moment a siren sounds. Fit pet-immune motion sensors inside, and put the panel somewhere it cannot be reached through the letterbox.
Layer two: verify
Add a video doorbell and two or three cameras covering entries and the driveway. Verification turns every alert into a decision: false alarm, neighbour's cat, or a real visit from our response team. Without it, every sensor trip means either panic or apathy — both expensive.
"Houses with detection plus verification plus response see break-in attempts drop to nearly zero within the first year."
Layer three: respond
Connect the system to a control room with patrols attached. That is the layer most DIY kits skip — and the one that matters at 3am when you are 200 miles away. Our response plans start at less than a takeaway coffee a week, and they include holiday patrol checks that keep the house looking lived in.
The order matters
We meet homeowners who bought cameras first and now own hours of footage of their own driveway. Detect, then verify, then respond — each layer multiplies the last. Book a free home survey and we will map all three onto your floor plan in about thirty minutes.
